The Network Engineer is part of the Software Engineering Team that designs, develops, tests and deploys software solutions to productize and monetize products for all of Labyrinth Technologies’ operating companies.

Duties + Responsibilities

Work Environment

  • Work on-site, full time, in an office environment in St Louis, MO
  • Report directly to the Director of Engineering, Software
  • Other interactions:
    • Work closely with the team to support their work environments
    • Proactively monitor the network for Issues, risks and improvements
    • Recommend changes and improvements in network infrastructure
    • Perform software and hardware upgrades as needed

Job Outcomes

  • Manage hardware and software on the company network
  • Develop and communicate plans for critical updates and installations to minimize downtime
  • Proactive approach to monitoring the network, servers and software installations
  • Develop and present proposals to make the network more robust and secure
  • Set up machines for new employees and provide appropriate access

Qualifications + Skills

  • Position requires solid technical knowledge of Network Administration
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues
  • Ability to deploy and update enterprise software
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, teamwork skills

Experience + Education

  • Minimum 1-year of industry experience in Network Administration
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or combination of education, training and experience
  • Knowledge and / or experience with the following:
    • Knowledge of networking services and network protocols
    • Knowledge and proficiency with different types of computer hardware (routers, servers, switches, etc.)
    • Knowledge and understanding of security
    • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software
    • Experience installing and configuring servers, routers and switches
    • Experience with Linux
    • Experience with Virtual Machines
    • Experience with common use cases preferable: Email Servers, NAS applications, Wifi controllers, internal DNS, etc.
