Labyrinth Technologies Completes Market St. Demonstration

Innovative SMART Lighting System Exceeds Expectations

Labyrinth Technologies has completed a successful year and half long pilot project in St. Louis demonstrating their state-of-the-art SMART lighting system.

“We are proud of the extraordinary results we were able to deliver for St. Louis,” said Ted Stegeman, CEO of Labyrinth Technologies. “Not only did the system exceed our client’s expectations, but we learned a lot by testing the system over such a large area and time-frame.”

During the fall of 2017, on behalf of Downtown STL Inc., Labyrinth Technologies deployed 135 lights along Market Street from the Gateway Arch grounds to Jefferson Avenue.

The $400,000 demonstration project was funded through private donations as part of Project #LightMySTL, an innovative effort to make downtown safer, smarter and more beautiful through the deployment of SMART Infrastructure.

With the demonstration project, Downtown STL wanted to conduct a year-long field test of the custom-designed lighting system before deciding to deploy the system throughout downtown St. Louis.

Given that the Market Street Demonstration exceeded performance expectations, the Downtown STL Inc. leadership team expects to move forward with a public fundraising drive to underwrite full deployment throughout downtown St. Louis over the next few years.
